gtk+-2.2.1 compilation

Hi all
 I compiled the gtk+-2.2.1 using the source.
 After the compilation, while starting gnome, it says the error,

gnome-session: relocation error: /usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0: undefined symbol: g_get_application_name

what is this 'relocation error' ? what should I do for this ?
