Help with rendering devanagari.

Hi,
I am using pfaedit to create a devanagari font. I have made some anchor classes in it to render the half forms at the right place. But pango seems to ignore the anchors completely and renders them as they are.

1. The character combinations work prefectly well in pfaedit (when I do view -> combinations -> anchored pairs). But I am trying to render them in abiword (or gedit even) and it doesn't work. I am using pango-1.2.1-3 on redhat 9.

2. Is there any particular standards an opentype font must follow for devanagari ? That is in terms of anchor classes etc., I see that even for fonts like raghindi (raghu.ttf) pango does not honour the anchor classes ?

3. If there an developers involved with devanagari I would like to know how they test the rendering of devanagari ? And what font they
use as reference ?

For reference I am putting up the source file at http://www.ece.uic.edu/~msripada/dvng10a.sfd.bz2 the TrueType version at http://www.ece.uic.edu/~msripada/Devanagari.ttf and the OpenType version at http://www.ece.uic.edu/~msripada/Devanagari.otf . And also http://www.ece.uic.edu/~msripada/Devanagari.ttf.bz2 <http://www.ece.uic.edu/%7Emsripada/Devanagari.ttf.bz2>.

The main combination for the last font (Devanagari.ttf.bz2) is ka (0x915 + 0x947).

The combinations
a. 0x0915 + 0x094D
b. 0x0916 + 0x094D
c. 0x0917 + 0x094D
d. 0x0918 + 0x094D
....

Thanks,
Manju
