hi all,
i am working on running indic unicode in linux ( not in popular linux
distrubtion).
what i did is:
installed using localedef, installed our keymapping etc etc.
now when i open terminal from Gnome. i can see and type devnagari
characters with no problem.
NOw my problem is:
When i type in Gedit. i guess pango is not rendering. Rectangle boxes
comes when i type.
So.. do i need X font server for this ?
Do i need True type font??
yeah, to be precise Opentype font.
if you are using Redhat or Mandrake you can install the indic font rpm
http://www.indlinux.org/downloads/indic-otf-0.1-1.noarch.rpm
or install the devanagari otf available from
http://rohini.ncst.ernet.in/indix/download/font/
(above rpm includes this font)
