Font name case

Somebody told me a ways back that font names should be capitalized for
Pango.  On the other hand, the Debian Pango setup seems to use them in
lowercase.  So let me get if from the horse's mouth:  Is Pango case
sensitive?  If so, should I use upper or lower case?
