so if it doesn't any more, I guess we've just entered Regressionsville.
   
We should look into making evince reverse-video, then.  It's going to 
e
a much better print preview mode, and could benefit from that anyway.
 
Perhaps this would be a reasonable solution.  What about users who need 
low contrast?
(I believe that's a small user population, but technically we may still 
have a need for it)
