definition of "g_signal_emit"

Hi all,

I build firefox 1.5.0.3 over gtk+-2.10 with Directfb Backend. But getting
crashed while running..
I found that it's because of the function "g_signal_emit".

can anyone tell me what this does and where it is defined..?
