Icon theme and animated icons

Hi All,

We have been speculating about using animated
icons with icon theme.

There are few limitations:

1) mng loader, we could write one, but
	it would not be beautiful because
	of limitations in libmng,

	considered also apng support,
	but did not find proper implementation
	and tools supporting creation of those.

	Gifs are unacceptable, since they lack
	proper alpha channel.

2) Icon theme standard does not support mng/apng.
	- implementation would not match
		current standard, but
		would still be compatible
		with it.

3) New api function. Since icon theme
	returns GdkPixbufs we should make
	a patch that adds an api function
	that retunns GdkPixbufsAnimation.
	- or could ask for filename of
		the animation, but thats
		not so cool :-)
