Not an option IMHO. We *should* ship 2.4 with a new file selector. IIRC
that has been the primary 2.4 goal for ages. I am also really close to
putting the combo in cvs (I've even merged it already in my local tree).

This is my preferred option (though I know it's not the smartest thing
to do).
