- notebook and paned docking
- the container GimpDock is always a toplevel window, and does not
  provide a way to show a central or contents widget
- all dock items are floating (from other dock widget's pov)
- items are stacked in a vertical (only) paned
- items are always part of a notebook, so they are always shown as tabs
- toolbox-type docking oriented afaics
- user dragging is done using gtk's drag'n drop machinery
- has a context menu in every item which allows showing currently
  hidden items (too tied to gimp afaics)
- items can have an icon (shown in the tab header)
