The way the theme switcher should work now:
- we should have a schema in libgnome for the theme name gconf key
- theme switcher just gets/sets that key
- gnome-settings-daemon propagates the key to the XSETTING
for the theme name
- GTK will pick that up
i.e. no gtkrc involved. Should mean most of the code in the theme
switcher goes away.
I'm less sure how the "pick a custom font" should work, though.
Ideally the same way probably but I'm not sure GTK has that XSETTING
yet.
XSETTINGS:

There should possibly be a "custom colors" setting as well that would
override the theme, I don't know. Didn't someone have a UI proposal
for the simple colors&fonts control panel? Can they post it if so?
