For the latest gnome-libs release I changed it to use the locale to get
the 24/12 hour stuff at least. (%x and %X instead of what was there). I
would love to get comments/suggestions for improving it if it's still
broken.
I know this is somewhat irrelevant to this discussion, but it might be
worth it if you're still maintaining the 1.4.x version of gnome-pim.
