Nope, that didn't work either, with the Perl 5.6.1 included with
current Cygwin. However, using ActiveState's Perl, even the original
regexp works. Go figure. Anyway, using ActiveState's Perl is a good
enough solution for me, so unless you have other reasons to look into
this, it can be left as is.
