The gtk-2.0.m4 file that comes with gtk+-1.3.3 is actually the m4 file
for glib-1.3.3.


> GTK+-1.3.3 also requires GLib-1.3.3 and pango-0.14:

Apparently, it also requires pkg-config.


The two problems above makes it difficult to get any application to do
proper autoconf checking.
