The only non-vaporware result I know of is Anders Carlsson's
GtkCoolbar, which is basically a modified GtkToolbar which displays a
pop-up menu on the right when the allocated width is not enough to
display all the buttons.
But I actually think we need a new GtkToolbar with a different
design. Probably we should resume the discussion on the
gnome-components-list for the list of requirements and ideas that are
necessary for Bonobo.

That's good news! Does this also mean we can have a saner
Pango-based font selector? (Maybe not for 1.4, but it should happen
some time IMHO.)
