That somebody is identical to the person who did the port on Compaq's
web site. (Colin Blake)

What he decided was he wanted to wait until 1.3.x stabilized
a bit before he cleaned things up. (The patch wasn't really
applicable to the new code base, which has a lot of changes
to how ports are done.)
