Some people are still looking at adding automatic signal handler
connection, but that's likely to be difficult. So we can add it to a
not-too-distant-future API break if it works.

In the meantime, the rest of the API is small and it works and it hasn't
changed for a long time. It's so useful that people would really like it
to be available as a stable dependency.
