On the usenet groups of Xs4all there's a post from the Dutch developer of
the SIP-client Twinkle. He says he has adjusted the latest version of his
software so that it works with Xs4all Voip. If i translate it well Twinkle
can now send in band DTMF tones. Maybe it's possible to add this feature
to Ekiga too.

Ik durf dat te betwijfelen. Als xs4all al RFC2833 ondersteunt, dan doen
ze dat niet op de juiste manier. Voor RFC 2833 moet in de SIP
signalering een dynamic payload id onderhandeld worden voor
de RFC 2833 events. Dit doet xs4all niet. Ik heb ergens gelezen
dat xs4all een vaste payload id (96 ?) zou gebruiken voor RFC 2833.
Dit is onjuist. Er is geen vaste payload id.
Ik verwacht dat Ekiga geen RFC 2833 events zal kunnen sturen als er
geen payload id onderhandeling plaats vindt. Ik had hetzelfde probleem
met Twinkle. Ik heb net een nieuwe versie van Twinkle uitgebracht
die ook in-band DTMF tonen kan sturen. Daarmee kan ik via xs4all
wel voice response systemen besturen.
