Have you tried putting the IPv6 address into [ ]?
h323://[xxx:yyy:....]

You *CAN NOT* install a version compiled for Fedora on a RH9. You will
have to upgrade to Fedora, or stick with 0.98.5, or compile from sources
(but it could require a few upgrades too, RH9 is ancient).
