Have you forwarded TCP port 1720 to your internal machine? If
not, it
will never work.

You most probably compiled pwlib/openh323 without openldap
support.
Possibly there was something wrong with openldap:
the library is present on my system, but recompiling
pwlib, openh323 and gnomemeeting did the job. I
did try to recompile openh323 and gnomemeeting before,
but I did not try to recompile pwlib.
Now I can call and receive calls.
However at first try there were some problems.
I will try to see if I manage to sort them out
before asking again for help.
I will investigate the openldap problem and if
necessary notify the Gentoo maintainers.
