Notice that when you hit "Reply" in your mail client, even if you erase
the old subject and the old text, your new mail will have a reference in
its header to show which message you are replying to.
The other mail clients will then use that information to put your
message in relation with the original mail, even when there's no
connection.
As a consequence, you may end up in a thread someone that could help you
decided not to follow anymore.
