[GnomeMeeting-list] h323_ID and SPACE character

I'm seeing a strange issue here, and i'm not sure whether it's a bug or
just my (still) limited understanding of the H.323 stack and
applications.

I installed gnugk-2.0.6 on a NAT-ing firewall, configured as an H.323
proxy.
I'm testing it on the LAN with a workstation running
GnomeMeeting-0.96.0-4 (the one that's installed by Red Hat 9) and a
laptop running GnomeMeeting-0.98.5-1 (the default on Linux Fedora Core
1).

GM is configured on the workstation with:
- First Name: florin
- Surname: home

And on the laptop:
- First Name: my
- Surname: laptop

As a result, the two systems register themselves to the gatekeeper like
this:

printallregistrations
AllRegistrations
RCF|X.Y.Z.12:1720|florin home:h323_ID|terminal|5682_endp
RCF|X.Y.Z.200:1720|my laptop:h323_ID|terminal|5681_endp
Number of Endpoints: 2

On the workstation, if i type "callto://my laptop", the call gets
through just fine, i accept it on the laptop and all is well (ok,
there's no sound, but i'm not worried about that):

ACF|X.Y.Z.12:1720|5682_endp|16289|my laptop:h323_ID|florin
home:h323_ID|false;
ACF|X.Y.Z.200:1720|5681_endp|16289|my laptop:h323_ID|florin home
[X.Y.Z.254]:h323_ID|true;

But on the laptop, if i type "h323: florin home", i get a "user not
found" error:

ARJ|X.Y.Z.200:1720|florinhome:h323_ID|my
laptop:h323_ID|false|calledPartyNotRegistered;

As you can see, gatekeeper's logs reveal that the space in the ID got
removed somehow.
I tried some other URI's, replacing or quoting SPACE, using double
quotes, even "callto://" variations, but nothing works.

If i reboot the workstation into Win2K and i place a call with
NetMeeting to "my laptop", it works, so NetMeeting is like
GnomeMeeting-0.96.0, it does not remove the space:

ACF|X.Y.Z.13:1720|5683_endp|29625|my
laptop:h323_ID|florin-win:h323_ID=florin-win:h323_ID|false;
ACF|X.Y.Z.200:1720|5681_endp|29625|my laptop:h323_ID|Florin Andrei
[X.Y.Z.254]:h323_ID|true;

I'm probably doing something wrong, but i'm not sure what.
Can someone enlighten me please? Thank you,
