Unfortunately I've never touched BSD, and I've only heard that OS X is BSD
based. If the libs that are used for manipulating the firewire cameras work on
your system, it should be just fine. You could try the following:

1. Check if you have a /dev/video1394 or similar device. The existence of such
a file should be good enough.

2. Check if you can get your camera working with either

a) Coriander http://freshmeat.net/projects/coriander/
b) dvgrab    http://freshmeat.net/projects/dvgrab/

I believe you have better chances with Coriander, but I found no references to
Coriander and BSD on the same page. Success with either Coriander or dvgrab
means that it shouldn't be hard to get your camera working with gnomemeeting.
