[GnomeMeeting-list] can't wite to /dev/dsp

I installed the latest gnomemeeting, and through the druid configuration i 
test the sound and it can open it, but can write to it.  I checked the 
permissions and its ok.  I even logged in as root and had same problem.  I 
have an sis i810 sound card.  gnome is able to play sounds without a 
problem.  Any suggestions so i can get this working?
