I found the causes.

I set "Updated blocks" to 99 (maximum possible value) and forgot to
restore it. Setting "Updated blocks" to 2 increased the frame rate
from 3.5 fps to 6.5 fps.

Then I rewrote my support functions for 1394 cameras to let it use DMA
video transfer. With this modification GM now sends 352x288 video at
15 fps to ohphone running on the same computer. 15 fps is sufficient speed.

Thanks for the comments and excuse me for overlooking the
misconfiguration.

But ohphone sends video at 22 fps with the same configuration. On my
computer the speed of GM does not exceed that of ohphone...
