Hard to tell without knowing what is line 1411 on your system.
I would suggest you to upgrade autoconf/automake.
I run RH 8 , installed a lot a -devel packages as the program was conplaining, installed
from sources automake (GNU automake) 1.7.2, autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.57,
ltmain.sh (GNU libtool) 1.4.3 (1.922.2.110 2002/10/23 01:39:54) and a few other
things and also get the :

./configure: line 1411: syntax error near unexpected token `gnomemeeting,'
./configure: line 1411: `AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE(gnomemeeting, 0.95.0)'

Line 1411 at configure is only `AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE(gnomemeeting, 0.95.0)'

I also have a few other problems like :

All this means that I have to run libtool, atomake and autoconf with special parameters
for configure from gnomemeeting to compile properly?
I know I could just ask for the corresponding gnomemeeting.rpm and install it but I'd like to get a litlle deeper into understanding how all this works in Linux ... if you can spare a few
minutes Damien ( I know the day only has 24hours ... ).

A merry Christmas and a hapy New Year to all !
