More precisely: a ppp connection with a simple modem is not enough. An
adsl ppp connection is enough.

You (AW, not Damien) have to understand that you need bandwith to
send/receive data. You tell us that with some you have good sound and
others a bad sound... I would say it doesn't really depend on with whom
you connect, but when, ie if you're connected at 56000 it will be better
than at 28800...

Using gnomemeeting with adsl (on both sides), you can have both
video&sound, but you can't have them both perfect (perfect sound and
50fps full quality). There is always a tradeoff.

On a lan, you can do what you want...
