As promised, I reported this bug to the gk-developers list and within a
day or two they (actually Chih-Wei Huang) confirmed the issue and has
committed a fix to the 2_0 branch of cvs for those, like me, who can't
wait.  I tried it and it now works.  For those who can wait, it should
be fixed in v2.03 of gnugk.
