2. dbus interfaces and developer docs / examples
dbus is all the rage with the Gnome crowd and a working dbus interface
to a SIP endpoint in Gnome 2.14 will attract a lot of integration into
Gnome applications for 2.16. This should raise the project's visibility
a lot and could make GM more attractive. Developers are pretty good at
getting excited about other people's software when they have the ability
to quickly add it as a feature to *their* project.
Julien?
The implementation of the dbus component is almost complete : only the
accounts interface isn't complete, in fact. The rest should work (but
would certainly need proper testing).
As for developper docs and examples :
- doc is incomplete ; the dbus introspection data is in cvs, but it
doesn't explain the rationale. It would take some diving into the
mailing-list archives to write a better documentation ;
- there is an example code, since I wrote a gnomemeeting remote... which
as the name implies, shows how to remote control gnomemeeting ;-)
I'm focused on the win32 port for now, so proper documentation will have
to wait a little :-/
