Confusion about appropriate mailing list

Hi,

http://developer.gnome.org/dotplan/for_maintainers.html uses
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/desktop-devel-list/2003-March/msg00331.html as an example email announcement for people to pattern their announcements after.  That email was sent to desktop-devel-list.  However the text of the page that points to that email as an example says to send the announcement to gnome-announce-list.  I'm assuming the latter is correct.  If so, could a different example be picked, or at least the discrepancy pointed out so that people will know the correct location?
