New index.html-- any objections?

Welcome back everyone -- I suppose you may not have gone away, but I did, so, relatively speaking, you went away as well, or something, I think. I never did very well in physics.

Aside from the mention of the 12/31/03 deadline (which we should of course delete, now that it's past), does anyone have any objections to this page?
