Something like this, I think:
http://cvs.gnome.org/lxr/source/gtkmm-root/doc-FAQ/Makefile.am#14
(see the xsltproc line).
You would need to have the docbook stylesheet installed. I used to install
them via an RPM but I think they are now installed by something else in the
GNOME tree.
