This is pretty superficial feedback, but since you asked for it...

* The phrase "get gnome - get software - get help" is its own
  punchline, it scans either as (a) a series of steps implying
  that installation is going to give you trouble, or (b) that
  people installing Gnome need psychiatric help. :)

  I'd rename "get help" as "support" and place it between
  "community" and "gnome foundation".
  
* I like the use of the circle around the foot to join the top
  pane with the left pane.  However I'd make the circle smaller
  to take up less space.  I also like the glossy effect the
  current page's foot has; any chance we can put that in the
  circle?

* Since the rolling hillside is eye candy, any chance of taking
  around a dozen photos and cycling them around?
