GTK+'s API's start with gtk_ and GNOME's start with gnome_, and the
reference documentation is going to be differentiated by library, so
I don't see this as a concern. I think that anything that isn't
reference documentation should be written for the largest audience,
which is going to include GNOME development and not just GTK+
development. But even so, we still have the GTK+ FAQ and the GTK+
tutorial, and I don't see those going anywhere.

Freshmeat's database is now owned by a for-profit organization and as
such, is not suitable as a basis for GNOME's software map. (You can
prove me wrong by getting the current freshmeat database for us to use
as we see fit.) Advogato does not have this problem; we can ensure that
all effort put into it will remain free - it's just an issue of defining
licensing on content early on.

And I don't say this lightly. Remember I did just what you were
suggesting for GTK+ apps in general for gtk.org. We even have an
interface from scoop for marking apps as GTK+ apps, etc.
