Re: error trying to compile gnome-vfs-2.14.2 in solaris2.7

Hi Alex,

I would recommend that you start by looking at the JDS/GNOME community at Open
Solaris.org:

	http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/desktop

This has pointer to Sun's specific patches - that are not yet upstream for 2.14.

Saying that - even here in Sun (where I work) we don't build GNOME 2.14 on
Solaris 2.7 since there are too many OS dependencies (in terms of libs, etc on
the OS by default and similar) that you may end up having to pull in other
things too.

If you are not restricted to Solaris 2.7, then I would recommend you upgrade to
a Solaris Express build (approx. bi-weekly builds of the latest Solaris).

	http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/solaris-express/get.jsp

This already has GNOME 2.14 as the base version of GNOME.

If you are restricted to a stable version of Solaris, then Solaris 10 would be
the way to go.

HTH,

Darren.
