smb:// uris fail when forking

Hello.

I'm writing gnomevfs-mount, a software which enables mounting gnome uris
onto the linux file system.

I realized my program fails when I mount smb:// uris and there is a
fork.

Apparently, a mutex is built and the program get stuck.

Only without mutex the program runs OK, but in blocking mode.

How can I workround that mutex, in order to make my program
non-blocking?
