I uploaded some background on http://www.it.gnome.org/~bat/bkgs/. The
images are mostly colorful gradients not branded at all (no penguins,
devils,  stars, gears, feet and so on :-)), imho very suited to be used
as desktop background. Feel free to use it as you like.
I'll upload the xcfs if I find the time to clean and organize the layers
a bit.
