Regarding backgrounds: should be cool to have 2 or 3 naturalistic
landscapes or so (ala ms win), 2 or 3 macros (see garret site) (ala
apple), 2 or 3 "abstract art" low contrast images (ala apple again) and
a nice set of about 5 or 6 tiles. I don't like branded image very much.
I have some low contrast tile around my machine, I'll try to post
something soon.
Regarding the chooser: I believe the current one is a bit too complex,
all the centering/scaling/tiling/stretching of the image should be in an
advanded tab or dialog and the app should automagically tile or stretch
the backdrop image by default. Eg if the backdrop is a pixmap less then
640x480 then it should be tiled by default else stretched. I'm not a
coder and I can't help with the implementation so feel free to ignore me
:-)
Ciao
Lapo
