Problems viewing themes in Gnome 1.4

Hi everyone,

I upgraded to Gnome 1.4 (with Red Carpet, awesome tool) and everything
seems to work fine. I am on a Redhat 7.1 system.

However, when I load up the Gnome Control Center (gnomecc) and go under
"Theme Selector" and try to change a Theme, the Preview box displays no
change from the default theme. No matter if I install a new theme, preview
or select one, there is no change. It worked fine before the upgrade.

So I tried with the root account, and the themes loaded up fine. I
presumed it was then a permissions problem on /usr/share/themes, but the
perms are all fine.

I do not know what the problem is. There are no error messages, or
anything else that would help me to determine the cause of this problem.

Thank you in advance for any help/clues as to why this occurs.

Afra
