******** HELP re Autoconf.2.13.... ****************

HI there.

I am following the CVS instructions on the GNOME site and have hit a snag. I
have acquired the stuff from CVS now i am in th process of building and
compiling glib and gtk+.

To tyhis end i followed the instructions to install glib...ie

./autogen.sh --prefix etc etc

but when i run this it says that it needs autoconf-2.13 to run. My NEW
install of RH Linux 5.2 only has version 2.12-6 - further more, when it got
the tarball of th 2.13 vewrsionn - it wouldnt install in my machine - ie -
rpm -i filename and it would seem as if it was doing it but then it would
not show up in my rpm database - i even did --rebuilddb to no avail.

has anyone had any problems with this and if so what should i do...any
takers...?
