I would like to get my USB mouse (MS Intellimouse) and
my trackpoint working simultaneously. Could someone
lend some assistance?
As it stands, my TrackPoint works. However, I cannot
get my USB mouse to work in X. I have an IBM ThinkPad
running Slackware 10.2.
When I attached the USB mouse, the kernel does
recognize it as a MS Intellimouse. However, it does
not tell me what device it's loading under. It says
input0, but that is not a device such as
/dev/usb/mouse0 or /dev/input/mouse0. I configured
(via xorgcfg) the TrackPoint successfully, but do not
know how to configure the USB mouse; I see no option
to select it. In addition, how do I know what device
to use? Choosing "Auto" simply selects my TrackPoint
(PS/2) and *only* my TrackPoint. Is it even possible
to set this up in X via xorgcfg? Am I right in that I
must set up both mouse0 and mouse1 profiles in xorgcfg
with the proper links to the devices. If so, again,
what device does my USB mouse link to?
This may help: is this something automatically
recognized by KDE (the default X WM)? I use
WindowMaker and would love to keep using it if
possible.
Thank you. Let me also add that I continue to
appreciate and be impressed at how great Slackware is.
