That might cover quite a lot of what I want. I've donwloaded the source
so I'll have a look.

Partially I'm simply interested in the way things like Dropline Gnome
allow access to superuser-only commands from a normal user login. And I
would like to be able to customise my own version of Gnome to provide
similar functionality.
