you're correct. the problem is that the freetype-1 and freetype-2
libraries overlap in slackware 8.0. slackware-current fixes this, but
in the meantime you can rename /usr/X11R6/include/freetype to
/usr/X11R6/include/freetype~ and recompile pango. if you need to
compile something which depends on freetype-1 (enlightenment is the only
project i can think of which still uses freetype-1) just rename the file
back for the compilation, then append the '~' once more after you're
done.
