how to update bits?

hi folks,

please forgive me if i hav echosen the wrong list.

i have FC4, i want to update its gtk/python bits.

i want pygtk-2.8.2.

but it says it wants gtk 2.8 or bettter.

so i download the gtk+-2.8.6, but it wants 
pango 1.10 and atk-1.10.1.

so how do i get out of this trap of interlinked dependencies?
