gnome 2.2 problem

I just upgraded my packages to gnome 2.2 from 2.0. Everything seemed to work fine, until I went to access the main menu. Only the icons and not the words such as "Applications" show up. This make it hard to identify what menu I am in. Does anyone know what package I need to install to correct this?
