[gnome-print] Problem printing latin caract

Hi!
I'm having a problem with , 

        gnome_print_show (pc, _(texto.c_str()));

it happens when i have words like "joão", "frança", "nº", etc...
in the string . it doesn't print!!!

can someone helpme work around that?
