[gpm] Suspend, hibernate and lid close not working

I'v installed GPM on my gentoo box and it seems to be working correctly... However, the suspend option on the menu doesn't work, it pops up an empty message box, I don't have an hibernate option and the close lid doesn't work also, anyone knows why? Am I missing something?
