Palm m130 Problems

I'm trying to get my new (old) Palm m130 setup.  My related packages are
as follows:

  pilot-link-0.11.8-1
  pilot-link-devel-0.11.8-1
  gnome-pilot-conduits-2.0.10-1
  gnome-pilot-2.0.10-3
  gnome-pilot-devel-2.0.10-3

I've gotten my palm to sync, but only for backup purposes
using pilot-xfer (pilot-xfer -p /dev/ttyUSB0 -b backup-dir) .  Every
time I try gnome-pilot it crashes.  It just sits there and does nothing
at all.  Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I'm not
even sure how to go about debugging this.
