Re: can't sync upgraded iiic to palm os 4.1

In wonder if that explains the problem I'm having. I have a palm m130 running 4.1 and it takes A LOT of jury rigging to get anything to work with gnome-pilot. I hadn't thought about it, but maybe there's an issue with 4.1.

Anyone had things run smoothly while running 4.1?

Subject: can't sync upgraded iiic to palm os 4.1
Date: 09 Jul 2003 14:04:59 -0400

I just last night upgrade my Palm IIIc from OS 3.5 to 4.1. All works
wonderfully from the palm's perspective (i.e. the upgrade actually did
work, etc.), and if I do a "PILOTPORT=/dev/ircomm0 pilot-xfer -l" and
then push the hot-sync icon, doing Ir->PC, pilot-xfer is able to list
all of my palm's databases. Also, if I "sudo irdadump", I can see my
palm pilot when it's near the irda port. Also, syncing via irda to my
palm (running OS 3.5) worked beautifully before I upgraded to OS 4.1.

HOWEVER, gpilotd does not respond to an irda hot-sync. It doesn't even
show a "Woke on Irda" message.

- are there any known problems with gpilotd (2.0.9) and Palm OS 4.1?

- since pilot-xfer works, what can I do to get gpilotd to work?

- how can I debug what's going wrong?

has anyone else hit anything like this???

TIA.
