mal conduit

I've been able to use the malsync program for Avantgo now for some time.
I noticed that gnome-pilot has a Mal conduit based on this program and
I've been trying to use it. Unfortunately, I have to access the web
through a proxy and malsync allowed me to specify this. I can't seem to
specify a proxy server for the Mal conduit. Does anyone know how to
specify a proxy server for this conduit?
