Evolution 1.1 and pilot sync

Can some one tell me how to have evolution 1.1 sync with my palm.

I am stuck:
1.0.8                                 1.1
Syncs with palm                       Does not sync to palm
Works with LDAP                       Second LDAP search fails
But Email searches don't work         Email searches work!

At the moment, email searches win.  Every few days I go back to the
old version and sync my palm/
